Fire-Dex Turnout Pant Outer Shell: 7.5 oz. NOMEX IIIA - Yellow. The outer shell shall be NOMEX IIIA with an approximate weight of 7.5 ounces per square yard, shall be of plain weave construction, and treated with a water repellent finish. The color shall be yellow. The rise of the pant shall be regular-rise, or approximately 16". The thermal liner shall be NOMEX batt quilt-stitched to a NOMEX calendered face cloth, light grey in color. The total weight of the thermal liner shall be approximately 9.0 ounces per square yard. Pant Moisture Barrier: (T) Stedair 3000 on E89Stedair® 3000 is a bi-component moisture barrier with excellent moisture vapor permeability. Stedair® 3000 is engineered using tri-component technology. The textile substrate is a two layer Nomex E-89 from Dupont. Nomex E-89, a non-woven substrate, is laminated to a membrane comprised of an expanded ePTFE matrix that is combined to a continuous hydrophilic and oliophoebic polymer layer. Each pant shall have an external fly flap constructed of one layer of quilted Nomex batt and one layer of moisture barrier sandwiched between two layers of outer shell material. The fly flap shall be a continuous part of the left front body panel beginning at the waist and extending down to a depth of approximately 12". The flap shall be approximately 4" wide at the top, tapering down to width of approximately 2" at the bottom where it shall be bartacked to the outer shell for strength and durability. The flap shall be a part of the pant closure system, which shall be: Inner Woven Hook & Loop / Outer Hook & Dee - A strip of pile fastener tape sewn to underside of the fly flap shall correspond to a strip of hook fastener tape sewn to the right front panel of the outer shell. A dee ring shall be installed with leather backed rivets at the top of the fly flap to engage the hook that is attached to the left front panel with leather backed rivets.
Pant Front Pockets Semi-Bellows Pocket - A semi-bellows pocket measuring approximately 2" deep in the rear by 10" wide by 10" high shall be double stitched to each front panel to provide accessibility.
